Yuva Tourism Club – Junior Classes

Our YUVA Tourism Club plays an important role in making the teaching of subjects such as Science, History, Geography and Language interesting by integrating them with real places and events. It also instils in the students a passion for exploring the physical environment for its history, grandeur and beauty. Our school has a dedicated Tourism Club, which is led by a faculty member and a student coordinator. They are responsible for promoting sustainable tourism in the country. Nursery, KG and PG students visited the local market, Spencer’s store and the railway station as part of the ‘My Place’ theme. On the theme of ‘Field Trip to Railway Museum’, students of class I visited the Howrah Railway Museum where they saw the fabulous collection of India’s railway heritage. Students of Classes II and III followed the theme “The Places of Worship”. This theme helped them to identify different places (temple, mosque, church) for worship. They had a visit to Bandel Lahiri Baba’s ashram and the church in Chandannagar. The students of classes IV and V visited the Birla Planetarium (officially M. P. Birla Planetarium) in Kolkata’s Chowringhee Road. It is adjacent to the Victoria Memorial, St. Paul’s Cathedral and the Maidan in central Kolkata.
